In 2003, Dr Robert Hungerford commenced a Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of Sydney before moving to the Hunter and completing his Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle, receiving the Steele Douglas Prize in pathology. In 2011, he joined the RACGP training program and worked in a number of large teaching hospitals and practices across the Hunter New England Health network. Upon fellowship in 2014 he was awarded the Tony Buhagiar Medal for his performance in the RACGP examinations. He currently works at Marketown Health 4 days a week, the occasional GP access clinic at the John Hunter hospital and is a conjoint lecturer at the University of Newcastle. He sits on a number of advisory boards and is a regular presenter/educator at a national level in the areas of heart failure and ASCVD. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his family, running and playing golf.
